Once again, the Banning Police Department andBPAL are hosting the Third Annual “Ready 2 Ride” Youth Safety Expo on Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is FREE.
R2R will be held again at the Banning Community Center parking lot located at 789 N. San Gorgonio Ave, Banning. The entire street will be closed for exhibits, booths, off-road vehicles and people!
WARNING: Attending the 2009 Ready 2 Ride Youth Safety Expo will make you a better person and will have a postive affect on you.
Side effects for all ages include: laughing out loud, eating awesome snacks, playing games, making friends dancing, and learning. Kids 14 years and under may notice helmets on their heads. You may also be exposed to some awesome kids, teenagers and adults who really care about their community. Don't be scared! R2R is rated "S" SAFE for everyone.
This year, our R2R Safety Expo committee made sure there was plenty of excellent food, snack and drink choices available for You! During R2R, kids and families can enjoy great prices on...
Food Vendors:
Pop’s Kettle Corn& Lemonade
Domino’s Pizza (by the slice)
Tasty Food for a Tasty Price Tacos, Nachos and Quesadillas
Back Yard BBQ and Catering will grill Hot Dogs and Hamburgers!
Soft drinks and Monster Energy Drinks will also be available at nominal prices.
Community Based Fundraisers:
BPAL Soccer Team will offer bottles of ice cold water for $1.
BPAL will have a limited number of R2R souvenir t-shirts for just $6.
Banning Youth Baseball will be making tasty "brain freeze" snow cones!
Cheerleaders from Banning High School will host the Domino's Pizza booth and receive a portion of the proceeds.
Nicolet Middle School Marathon Team will be making personalized BUTTONS!
So come hungry, thirsty, or just come and support our food vendors and community groups who have committed to keeping their prices reasonable for the kids and families who attend the expo.
Some of the R2R Expo Happenings!
Ready 2 Ride pulled out all the stops this year just for the fun of it! We will have free prizes for kids throughout the expo, loud DJ music, extreme skateboarders, and clowns..FACE PAINTING for kids. BPAL will have free sport games scattered about the expo for kids to play so visit all the booths!
We ordered up two GIANT jumpers this year and for just a buck, you can "jump for joy!"
US Bank will have their World Famous prize wheel (it's not really famous, but it sounds good) for kids to win some cool prizes!
The Banning Cultural Alliance will have an awesome craft booth where kids can create something and take home with them. Kids will become wood workers and green thumb gardeners at the The Home Depot Kid's Workshop.
State Farm Insurance & Kiwanis volunteers will distribute FREE Skater helmets to kids 14 years & under. Bring you bike, scooter or skateboard and test your skills and safety knowledge on our Safety Obstacle Course!
Like DIRT? There will be plenty of off-road vehicles to check out and take photos with including Ding Master's Monster Velociraptor!
As if that isn't enough, kids 12 years & under can swim for FREE at the Repplier Aquatic Center. FREE SWIM DAY is sponsored by Kiwanis of Banning. Thank You Kiwanis!
If you aren't afraid of getting WET, the Banning Fire Department will cool you off with their two-inch water cannon. (no sissys allowed)
